Red Hat's RPM technical rpm-list
The RPM technical rpm-list is hosted by Red Hat and archived here. A gateway to a search interface for Red Hat lists, generally, is here. The rpm-list is covered from its move to the present mailing list server in August 2000.

This list is probably the best place to ask questions and get authoritative answers on RPM usage and practice. Several 'old hands' and the current maintainer of RPM at Red Hat actively participate in the list.
  • To simply subscribe to the RPM technical rpm-list , send mail to rpm-list-request@redhat.com with `subscribe rpm-list` in the body, -or-
  • To manage a subscription (viz, to subscribe, unsubscribe, and so forth) to the technical rpm-list, visit the MailMan interface here.
Community RPM development rpm-ldevel
The RPM development rpm-devel is hosted by the Duke LUG and archived here.

This list is probably the best place to ask questions and get authoritative answers on RPM development issues. Several 'old hands' and the current maintainer of RPM at Red Hat actively participate in the list.
  • To simply subscribe to the RPM development rpm-devel , send mail to rpm-devel-request@lists.dulug.duke.edu. with `subscribe rpm-devel` in the body, -or-
  • To manage a subscription (viz, to subscribe, unsubscribe, and so forth) to the development rpm-devel, visit the MailMan interface here.
FreshRPM's rpm-list
The FreshRPM's rpm-list is for both general RPM discussions and bug reports and suggestions about the RPMs may be found at Matthias Saou's freshrpms.net.
  • To manage a subscription (viz, to subscribe, unsubscribe, and so forth) to the FreshRPMs rpm-list, visit the MailMan interface here.
Central OH Linux User Group rpm-ed list
The rpm-ed list is for discussion of EDITORIAL matters ONLY related to the website. NO technical answers on RPM usage will be offered there. The list is hosted by the COLUG.
  • To manage a subscription (viz, to subscribe, unsubscribe, and so forth) to the editorial rpm-ed list, visit the MailMan interface here.
SPECIAL NOTE: Each mailman list has as one of its management options at its subscription management webpage, an option at the very bottom (poorly featured) to mail you the management password for your subscribed email address; your subscribed email address appears in EVERY piece's 'full headers' as the first Received line's destination addressee. ONLY YOU can see this information; the list administrator cannot see what address might be ultimately forwarding to you. Additionally, once a month, a mailing with the subscribed address and password is AUTOMATICALLY sent out.
